Tips & Facts

Listed here are a few tips and facts. More will be added as they come to mind.
If you have any to add, let me know and I will put them here.

DON'T OPEN    Aquazone runs off of your computer's clock.  If you get a "sick fish" alert, do NOT click the OK button.  Immediately use "control-alt-delete" to bring up your task window and close your Aquazone program.  Right click on your computer's clock and select "Adjust Date and Time".  Select a date in the past in which you are sure the tank was in good condition.  Open the tank and correct the cause of the problem, then bring your computer's clock back to present.  Of course, if you have only one species of fish in the tank, you can use Fisherman to bring the fish's health back instead.

RED-TAIL SHARK   The red-tail shark requires a water temperature setting of 22 - 26, which is slightly cooler than for most of the other fish.  However, there are many fish that you can place with the red-tail shark that do quite well at this setting.  See the Fish Stats pages for more info.  You cannot place two adult red-tail sharks together in a tank for very long without one killing the other, even if you are trying to breed them.  You can place as many adolescent sharks together or as many adolescents with one adult as you want, but not two adults.

MOLLIES & PLATYS   Mollies and Platys require water with high pH and GH levels, which correspond with higher calcium and magnesium values.  Try using these settings:  7.5 pH, 9.5 GH, 40 Ca and 70 Mg.  For this reason, it is better not to mix Mollies and Platys with other fish.
